A popular bike ride runs along the Strandpromenaden, which follows the coastline from Varberg Fortress all the way to the beach at Apelviken. Along the way, there are several lovely swimming spots, cozy places to sit, and restaurants where you can stop for a swim, a coffee break, or a tasty meal.

Getterön is located about 4 km from downtown Varberg—perfect for a bike ride! We offer traditional bikes and e-bikes for both short outings and longer adventures. If you’re looking for a bit more excitement, we also have mountain bikes available for rent, as well as kids’ bikes for our younger cyclists. We also have cargo bikes for the whole family.
The Kattegat Trail
The Kattegat Trail, 390 km
For those of you who want to embark on a longer cycling adventure, the Kattegattleden is a must-try. The 390-kilometer trail follows the Halland and west coasts from Gothenburg in the north to Helsingborg in the south. The trail is divided into eight stages, so you can choose to cycle a shorter section or tackle the entire route.
Along the way, you’ll find beautiful coastal views, forests, small towns, fields, and the ocean—and plenty of opportunities to stop for a coffee break or a tasty meal.
Åkulla Beech Forests

Would you like to swap ocean views for a lush beech forest? Then the Åkullaleden is a wonderful cycling adventure! The trail, which is about 24 kilometers long, starts in downtown Varberg and takes you through the beautiful Åkulla beech forests. Along the way, there are lovely spots to stop and the chance to grab a tasty snack, including at Åkulla Outdoor Resort.
