Snorkelled

Outdoor gym
Getterön’s outdoor gym is a popular spot by the beach for those who can’t sit still during the holidays and instead love to sweat and stay active even on days off. The gym is located on the first bay.
First Bend
The first bay is mostly surrounded by grass and to get down to the cooling salty water you either walk via a jetty or along the fine-grained sand. At the first bay you will find both the playground, outdoor gym and the marina which is located a stone’s throw from the beach. From here, the Getteröboats into town, perfect when you don’t want to take the car!
North Pier
For those who don’t want sand between their toes, we recommend Första vik, the northern pier, which is the smallest of Getterön’s coves. Here, you can easily get into the water via a pier—perfect for a quick dip or for catching crabs! This is also where the snorkeling trail winds its way through.
Third Bay
Do you have a dog? Then you should visit Third Bay, Varberg’s only dog beach. Ängaviken is surrounded by grass, Soft sand, rocks. There are dog houses here for the dogs to rest in after a refreshing swim in the ocean. The shower outside Service Building C is always a lovely, lukewarm temperature, so your four-legged friends can enjoy it.
Fourth Bay
For those who prefer to lie down and sunbathe in the sand, you should look down to the fourth bay, where both a sandy beach and a nearby jetty are at hand. Next to the beach is a small walking path that takes you to both the third bay and the fifth bay.
Fifth Bay
At the fifth cove, you’ll find a large, beautiful beach with a pier, cliffs, a grassy meadow, a sandy beach, a swimming pier, an accessible swimming area, a playground, and amenities such as restrooms and changing rooms. Here, you can also enjoy ice cream or lunch at the Parasollet restaurant.

Explore our exhibitions and let yourself be seduced by the diversity that Getterön has to offer. The children’s nature center contains everything from a play corner, treasure hunt, hint walk, the opportunity to borrow a backpack with binoculars and bird book. For the explorer, there are butterfly hoods to borrow during the summer to investigate the world of bugs.
At Naturum there is something for every curious soul!
Playground at Femte Vik
Femte Vik on Getterön is a cozy and fun place for both children and adults. Here, there’s a boat where kids can play and pretend to be captains on adventures at sea. Next to the boat are swings where kids can swing high and feel the wind in their hair. The playground is beautifully situated by the water and offers a wonderful combination of play and beautiful nature.
Nature reserve
Discover the stunning nature and rich wildlife of Getterön Nature Reserve, surrounded by the sparkling sea. Here you can hike along scenic trails, birdwatch on the beaches and enjoy the fresh sea air. Perfect for both relaxation and adventure!
Promenade ladders
The winding paths take you along the sea, where you can enjoy the fresh breeze and spectacular views. The rocks, grass and stones create a varied and beautiful natural environment that invites you to relax and explore in all seasons.
The Getterö boats
Take a lovely trip with the Getterö boats to town! The short trip of about 10 minutes offers a relaxing and green experience over the water. Enjoy the fresh sea air and beautiful views as the boat glides along. Perfect for a quick excursion or as a convenient way to get into the heart of the city!
